When It Rains, It Pours

I use this blog to post tech related things for the most part, however I am going to start posting random thoughts and bits from my head here as well.

I have recently been thinking about how when one thing starts to go bad in life, everything else follows and starts to go bad as well. Like the saying goes, when it rains, it pours, but why does it work this way?

Is it because when things start going wrong, we humans tend to give in and let that affect other parts of life? Or is it just the fact that its all completely random but we tend to focus on other bad things when bad things happen which in turn causes everything to be worse than what they were originally.

Being able to handle yourself when things are not going well in life might help us handle this issue better. I see people completely isolating themselves after breakups, drinking constantly after losing their job and get into other bad habits because of something bad happening in their life, and I don’t blame them, we are just humans right? But those behaviours could cause other things go bad in life causing even more issues. Sometimes emotions take over and take control of our life, and that is just a part of being human, but the better grasp you have of your emotions, the easier it will be to deal with problems.

Everyone wants a happy life, but I think sometimes we tend to forget that life is a roller coaster and there are going to be dips and things are going to go bad. I feel like living life with the expectation of things going wrong in your head mentally prepares you to be able to deal with the problems better when they arise. Good moments in life wouldn’t really be good if there weren’t bad moments. It’s those bad moments that give good moments a meaning and life would be very boring if things were good all the time. Bad things happen, what matters is how you deal with them and how you resolve the issues and what you get out of it. It’s like learning any other skill in life, the more you do the more you learn.
